Carved pencil in the shape of, for better or worse, a thumb, 2003.
Made whilst working a dreadful, dead-end warehouse job for a leather/S&M factory with a limitless supply of super sharp body peircing needles and pencils. Other carvings were made: spheres, cubes, linked chains, airplane propellers, oars, spheres from just the graphite, tiny graphite hands...hours of practice netted awesome results, and I think I was making breakthroughs that would have lead to a level of mastery
, but I eventually moved on to other obsessive Freidman-like activities.
